Information for Seniors

Due Dates (Fall Defense):

• Second Reader Form due by September 15
• Complete Draft to Advisor by October 18
• Advisor-Approved Thesis to Full Committee by November 22
• Please try to submit your thesis defense information at least one week before your defense. Email your information to Sirena Brannon at sbrannon@olemiss.edu.
• Thesis Defense: Defend your thesis by December 6
• Future Plans Form due by April 15 (form available in April)
• eGrove Submission: May 10

Due Dates (Spring Defense):

Associate Dean for Capstone, Dr. Timothy Yenter, is on sabbatical during Spring 2025. For capstone-specific questions, please contact Dr. John Samonds at jsamonds@olemiss.edu.

• Advisor-Approved Thesis to Full Committee by April 1
• Future Plans Form due by April 15 (form available in April)
• Thesis Defense Form: Please try to submit your thesis defense information at least one week before your defense. (form available at the beginning of the Spring semester)
• Thesis Defense: You must defend your thesis by May 2 in order to walk in the Honors Commissioning Ceremony, taking place on Thursday, May 8, at 7:00pm at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss.
• eGrove Submission: May 9

• If your defense information changes less than 24 hours before your defense, please email the changes to honors@olemiss.edu or sbrannon@olemiss.edu
• You can resubmit your thesis defense information and thesis titles as many times as needed.
• If you are not required to defend your thesis (i.e. Accounting majors, etc.), if you are delaying your thesis defense to another semester, or if you are not planning to complete your thesis, please email Sirena Brannon (sbrannon@olemiss.edu) to let us know.
