The Honors College welcomes 304 freshmen who will join us in August 2010. This is the largest entering class ever. These students hail from 20 states and 4 foreign countries, with 35% from other than Mississippi, and they have an average ACT of 30.2. Congratulations to Penny Leeton, Honors Coordinator, for winning the Outstanding Staff Member award in her category! Ms. Leeton was selected through a campus-wide ballot. Honors students who have been through Freshman Ventures, Sophomore Service, or simply needed some quick directions or advice will understand why she won. Congratulations, Miss Penny!

Dennis Pickens (accountancy), Brent Caldwell (philosophy and public policy leadership), and Erin Callahan (international studies) were chosen by their fellow students to speak at the Honors College Commissioning Ceremony on May 7. Erin welcomed all in attendance, Dennis gave the keynote speech, and Brent presented his fellow graduates with a charge.
