The Honors College received another record number of applications. Each year has seen a new record, but this year we jumped over 50% to 730 applications. The admissions committee is diligently reviewing all the applications received by the deadline and will have notifications out by the end of February.
Congratulations to the sixteen teams of freshmen who qualified for this year’s Freshmen Ventures. These teams will travel to designated cities and interview someone with the question, “What do we owe future generations?” Click here for the map of where the freshmen will be traveling. Two of the most intriguing figures in recent American history—Tom Brokaw and Rhesa Barksdale—will share their insights and reflections with students at the University of Mississippi next spring as visiting lecturers. The renowned Elie Wiesel presented our Spring SMBHC lecture on Monday evening, 7:30 p.m., at the Gertrude Ford Center for the Performing Arts to a packed house.
