Honors Faculty Win Teaching Awards
Congratulations to Bob Brown, Professor of Political Science, for receiving this year’s Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award. Dr. Brown has taught on the Honors Freshman Seminar team since Fall 2004, and now coordinates the faculty development for these foundational honors courses. To learn more about Dr. Brown, visit here.
Congratulations, also, to Kathryn McKee for receiving the College of Liberal Arts‘ Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award; and to Hilary Becker for receiving the College of Liberal Arts’ Cora Lee Graham Award for Outstanding Teaching of Freshmen. Dr. McKee, McMullan Associate Professor of Southern Studies and Associate Professor of English, has taught numerous honors courses in English and Southern Studies, including team-teaching The Literature and History of the Civil War in Spring 2015. Dr. Becker, assistant professor of Classics, taught Honors Ethics in Archaeology in Spring 2015.
