On Thursday, February 24th, Louise Leakey, the head of the Koobi Fora Research Project on the shores of Lake Turkana in Kenya, spoke at the Honors College’s Spring Convocation. Dr. Leakey traced the history of discoveries into human origins made by her grandparents, Louis and Mary Leakey, parents, Richard and Maeve Leakey, and the work that is currently being done in the Rift Valley. Prior to her talk, she dined in the Lyceum with students from an honors anthropology class who are studying the legacy of the Leakey family. Click here for more images from the convocation.
