Honors Students Win Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award
The Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award recognizes journalists whose work has focused on human rights, social justice, and the power of individuals to make a difference. A student reporting team won the College Print category with a piece called “The Roads of Broken Dreams: Can a New Delta Arise from the Rot of the Old South?” The piece was written as part of a journalism class last spring with honors students Elizabeth Vowell and Natalie Dickson. The School of Journalism is continuing this type of work with an honors course on the Delta in spring 2011.
