2014 Bioethics Fellowships
The University of Mississippi Medical Center, the Department of Philosophy and Religion, and the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College are collaborating to offer a five-week immersion experience (6/30/14 – 8/1/14) at the Medical Center in Jackson, MS for three qualified students. After receiving preliminary training in ethics, students will be assigned to ward teams and interact with patients as they experience their illnesses, the environment in which their care is given, and observe the physicians, nurses and other staff as they provide that care.
Selected students will receive three hours of Phil 329 course credit tuition free and receive financial aid to help cover living expenses while in Jackson. Full details and application materials can be found here. The application deadline is March 3rd.
