Honors College Hits the 1,000 Student Mark
In Fall 2012, the Honors College has 1,050 students, breaking the 1,000 student mark for the first time. Students hail from 34 states and 9 foreign countries, with 64% coming from Mississippi. Honors students can be found in every college and school that grants bachelor’s degrees, and currently students are spread over 71 different majors. Of the student body, 60% are female, and 12% are classified as other than white. The Fall 2012 freshman class—the largest ever—has 354 freshmen with an average ACT of 30.2 and an average high school GPA of 3.93.
