SMBHC alum Marie Wicks has won the title of Miss Mississippi. She’ll be representing the state at the Miss America pageant in January. Marie graduated in May with a B.A. in International Studies and a B.A. in French, with a chemistry minor. Her Honors/Croft thesis, defended in 2011, was “Swing Into Action: The Political and Aesthetic Role of Jazz in Nazi Germany and Occupied France.” Congratulations, Marie, and good luck!
