Although we all want to live in a perfect world, none of us can say what, exactly, would make a world perfect. Dr. Matthew Holbreich from the Political Theory Institute at American University will deliver an interdisciplinary lecture entitled: “Utopia: Nostalgia & Longing in Political Life.” The talk will explore the historical and theoretical underpinnings of the idea of a utopia, as well as its aspirations, by drawing from works of literature, film, philosophy and theology.
