On September 12, Dr. Bill Deresiewicz, renowned author and former English professor at Yale, spoke about “The Resistant Mind” as he addressed the obligations and motivations of high-performing students in today’s Universities across America.

His lecture at the Gertrude C. Ford Center asked the Honors College, the Ole Miss community, and the Oxford community—all present in the audience—to look at their individual values and goals, and to question their individual courses of action.

Before the lecture, nearly twenty Honors students had the opportunity to dine with Dr. Deresiewicz in the Lyceum.
