Honors College Welcomes Record Incoming Class at our Freshman Retreat
The SMBHC welcomes its largest freshman class ever at our Freshman Retreat August 17-19. The class currently stands at 313 students, with 62% from Mississippi and the others hailing from 21 states and one foreign country. The average ACT of this group is 30.8 (over half a point higher than last year’s), and the average high school GPA is a 3.91. We look forward to seeing all of you!
The Freshman Retreat is an opportunity for us to get to know our incoming class of honors students better, as well as for you to learn more about what the Honors College community has in store, to meet each other, and to meet your professor for Honors 101. In addition, we will also hear from and engage with Dr. Susan Reverby, the author of our Retreat book, Examining Tuskegee. We look forward to seeing each of you, and we’re excited to welcome the Honors Class of 2015 to the University of Mississippi.
Below, we’ve posted a copy of the retreat schedule. Please note that move-in begins on Wednesday, August 17th, and that the retreat will start promptly at 8:00am on Thursday, August 18th and Friday, August 19th. If for some reason you did not receive a copy of the letter we sent out regarding the Honors Retreat, please contact our Retreat Coordinator at (662) 915-7294 or gwknox@olemiss.edu.
