Congratulations to Shelley McGraw
Recently, honors counselor Shelley McGraw was informed that she has been chosen to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Birmingham-Southern College. She is one of six elite athletes chosen for this prestigious award for the year 2011. She will attend an induction ceremony and celebratory dinner at her alma mater during their Homecoming weekend on November 11, 2011. From 2002 to 2007, Shelley was a member of Birmingham Southern College’s Division I Women’s golf team. Competing in more than 10 tournaments a year, Shelley consistently led the team in scoring average and was chosen as team captain in her junior and senior years. The team finished first in the Big South Conference tournament 3 years in a row allowing them to move on to the Regional tournament where they competed against many of the nation’s top ranked teams. Of her many accomplishments on the golf course, Shelley led her team as individual runner-up in the Conference tournament in 2005. She was also part of the All-Conference First Team in 2004, 2005, and 2007. Off the golf course, Shelley was also very dedicated to her academic success. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology in May 2007.
