Kayla VonBurg-King is originally from Carlyle, Illinois and moved to Oxford in 2015 to study at the University of Mississippi. At UM, Kayla earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and TESL as a Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors Scholar. She additionally was a Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi scholar. She went on to earn her Master of Art in Higher Education/Student Personnel from the University of Mississippi in 2021. Kayla has experience in advocacy, case management, academic support, and international education, and she additionally co-founded the UM Lyceum Locker in 2021. Kayla began a doctoral program in higher education in fall 2021. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, kickboxing, and hanging out with her cat.
