Honors Spring Convocation Welcomes Kiese Laymon

Honors Spring Convocation Welcomes Kiese Laymon

Bestselling author and UM Professor of English and Creative Writing KIESE LAYMON addressed, “What unites us?” in front of captivated students, staff, faculty, and community members at the Ford Center on February 4th. 

Laymon is the auther of Heavy: An American Memoir, How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America, Long Divison, and the forthcoming And So On.  He is a graduate of Oberlin College and has taught at Vassar and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Laymon has written for Gawker, Esquire, ESPN the Magazine, NPR, Colorlines, The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Ebony, Guernica, and The Oxford American.
