National Collegiate Honors Council Conference in NOLA
Thanks to SMBHC students Liza Boyer, Leah Davis, Trip Johnson, and Jordan Watts for representing the honors college at the National Collegiate Honors Council conference in New Orleans! Liza and Leah joined Senior Barksdale Fellow Ashleen Williams and Associate Dean Jennifer Parsons for a panel presentation on collecting credentials and imposter syndrome. Williams, ONSA Director Tim Dolan, and Dean Douglass Sullivan-González gave presentations on scholarships, honors education, and retention, and 2019 Portz Scholar Kennedy Dickson (SMBHC 19) presented her honors thesis. Kennedy has two publications pending—one for the law portion of her honors thesis, and one for her recent summer’s work at the Orange Crime Laboratory in Southern California. Currently, Kennedy studies cannabinoids with Kristie Willett, chair of the Department of BioMolecular Sciences and professor of pharmacology and environmental toxicology.
