SMBHC Welcomes New Staff Members
We welcome new staff members to the SMBHC!
Rachel Coleman first joined the SMBHC family in 2007 and has returned in the role of Academic Counselor. A self-proclaimed military brat, Rachel spent her formative years in countries such as Germany, Turkey and Belgium; moving to the states for the first time in 2000. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mississippi University for Women and her master’s degree in counselor education from the University of Mississippi. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with her husband and children.
Originally from Jackson, TN, William Teer currently serves as the Coordinator of Recruitment and Admissions. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Samford University and master’s degree in College Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. It was during his time at Samford that William developed a passion for educational equity, which eventually led to his acceptance into the Teach for America program. As a Teach for America corps member, William taught 9th grade English for two years in El Dorado, Arkansas. In his spare time, William enjoys movies, live music, and jogging with his rescue dog, Gomez.
Linda Whitten currently serves as the accountant for the Honors College. She is a certified public accountant and earned her bachelor’s degree from the School of Accountancy at Mississippi State University. She has worked in the financial industry in Houston, Texas, and is glad to be back in her home state of Mississippi. She serves as the financial advisor for a sorority and appreciates time spent with the students. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and considers herself a representative of Mississippi. Linda enjoys attending Ole Miss sporting events with family and friends.
